SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE

In Semba we believe in authentic, conscious fashion. We’re inspiring a vibrant and sustainable lifestyle.

SUSTAINABILITY

All our products are sustainable and recyclable:

  • For our espadrilles we use natural jute soles and natural leather.
  • Our African fabric products are made with authentic 100% cotton African real wax fabrics.

We promote “Less waste” : we use recyclable packaging and we don’t use shoe boxes.

REAL WAX FABRICS

We select and buy all our wax print fabrics, “real wax” certified,  directly from African local artisans in Angola. We have a personal relationship with the people involved in our supply chain. This relationship helps the local economy and preserves the production traditions. Without intermediaries, we pay a fair price for their art work fabrics, helping local artisans and their communities with a fair trade.

ARTISAN MADE

The production of our espadrilles is made in the Spanish ancient traditional way. Each pair is handmade in La Rioja by artisans, this way we promote clean and efficient production, helping the growing local economy and craftsmanship traditions.

SLOW FASHION

We feel identified with “Slow fashion movement”. Slow Fashion is about being purposeful, conscious,  and realizing that it’s better to buy better-quality items.

The way we produce is done slowly and with care, we don’t arrive with the latest trend every week, but we produce it in an ethical and environmental way, and our products are beautiful too!

Slesia, Co-founder of Semba: “Clothes are supposed to be personal, there must be a connection with them. Your clothes say who you are, and we want to be authentic! This is why we decided to do fashion the way we do, with care. I like to say that our products are doubly beautiful!”
